fear is trusting in your own power

“Fear is Trusting in your own Power.” – Marianne Williamson

fear is trusting in your own power

Wow. Anyone else get goosebumps after reading that quote? I sure did. It truly resonates with me. Personally I have been one who has fought with that. Fearing my own power. Being so incredibly powerful (not the power that would take over the world for my own selfish reasons) but a power that resides within and removes lack, worry and fear, when you think of something BAM! it is manifested. It already happens and I am amazed every time.  I know, like I know, like I know how the “Laws” work yet will it (trusting that power) consume me? Will it take me over? Will I loose all that I know as “Shay” and who she has been? Maybe. But what if the new Shay is so much better, so much more of service, can assist that many more people? Who am I to hold that back? How dare I hold that back? It also ties into the Phoenix which is a symbol that is sooooo me. So near and dear to my heart and is really who I am and am becoming. That symbol has also scared me ever since it showed up in a dream of mine that woke me up out of a dead sleep not too many years ago. (I will have to tell you more about the Phoenix another time but it is a really cool story!)

This quote also reminds me of Marianne’s other quote:

  • Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I have even re-worked it, put it into more of an “I Am” statement, present tense form and this is what is on my bathroom mirror to read everyday.

“I am powerful beyond measure.

It is my light that empowers.

I am brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous.

I am a child of the Universe.

I play BIG to serve the world.

I am enlightened.

People feel secure around me.

I shine, just as children do.

I was born to make manifest the glory of God that is within me.

As I let my own light shine, I unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

I am liberated from my own fear.

My presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson re-written by Shay Wheat

The thing is we all have this immense power we possess and can tap into. The question is will we allow the fear to take over and leave the power within dormant or do we allow our own Phoenix to open its wings and be reborn to take flight once again. You are that powerful and to me it feels like it’s time that more and more of us trust in that fear of our power and let the light shine. It’s time to StandUpAndLead. Lead yourself and your presence will automatically liberate others to do the same.

I look forward to your comments and emails on times you have trusted your power, what you currently fear is holding you back and how you are taking action to move forward or looking for support to move forward. We are here to Shine and I am so excited to be on this journey with you. Let’s lock arms together and make a difference.

Love and Light,

Shay Wheat

H.A.R.T. Balloon Release does not tolerate bullying!

0

Do you know what is happening in your local community?

A great friend of mine introduced me to an event that was happening at the local State College, Sacramento State, and asked if I would like to attend.

Sure, what are we supporting?

This is what she sent me…

H.A.R.T. Balloon Release

As human beings, we subconsciously keep a record of wrongs that has been done to us in the past. The act of holding a grudge is a habit by human nature; unaware of the negative effect it can have in life.

The H.A.R.T Balloon Release event is purposed for the public to take a step toward becoming a community that will not tolerate bullying. Prior to the main event of releasing the H.A.R.T. balloons, the public is welcome to stop by the Have H.A.R.T. booth to write something he or she desires to let go of. Whether it is a specific name, a personal reflection, or a negative memory, the idea is to identify an unhealthy resentment and have a physical written form of it..

Those who participate will be asked to return to the booth at 3pm, tie their piece of paper to a balloon, and release it along with all the other attendees. Releasing the balloon symbolizes being free of the written issue and moving on in life without any burdens.

SOLD! I am sooo In!

Not only am I about supporting an awesome group of young, purpose driven individuals who rally together for the good of human kind but to have an opportunity for me to also release things that burden me is right up my alley.

So off we went to the Sac State campus, ready to write down our burdens, connect with like-minded individuals and bring awareness to those around us. There was probably 50+ balloons and over 100 people in attendance on the quad that afternoon.

Messages written, tied onto the balloons and ready for lift off!

It was an amazing feeling to physically write down (getting it out of your head, onto paper) a fear, set back, something that is holding you back and/or whatever it is you are wanting to release, tie it to a balloon,  LET IT GO, and watch it float away. The feeling I had afterwards was incredibly a sense of calm, ease and by the time we got back in our car to head home I was full of life and energy…bouncing in the car to the music and being silly. It was a symbolic gesture that had an emotional and physical release for me and one “tool” I had forgotten was so powerful.

My hope for sharing this with you today is to open your eyes to other “tools” of assisting you to release things in your world that are no longer serving you. Whether it be a balloon release with the community just as we did (feel free to create your own group too!), writing it down on paper and burning it (remember safety first), or connecting with a coach/councilor/mentor/friend there are many options. Also there are many resources (we heard about this from www.Sacramento365.com ) locally that can inform you of events and ways to be involved in your community.

Wishing you all the best on this beautiful day and never stop working on you!

Masks…Wear for fun or for a Lifetime?

0

mardi gra mask

The other day I was celebrating my good friend’s birthday and we went into a costume store to try on some Masks. We were having a really good time trying on ones with feathers, ones you tie behind your head, ones you hold onto, ones with tons of sparkle, different colors, etc. All of which gave us different looks depending on the mask we tried on. Later that evening after looking at our pictures and remembering the fun filled day, I got to thinking about people wearing their own masks in everyday life.

Have you ever met someone who when you met them they were fun, outgoing, nice, sociable  (their “going out” mask) then when you start to get to REALLY know them it seems like that mask flies off and you start to see their true colors? That recently happened to one of my clients. To the world her friend treated everyone one way and then behind closed doors would talk and gossip and demean the very person they just saw! It threw my client for a loop! She didn’t know 1) how to deal with this person now with this information and 2) if she really wanted to still be associated with them now that she saw the Mask come off.

Let’s take it from a different perspective. Are there Masks that you may wear in your own life? Perhaps you are a collector of Masks, both figuratively and/or literally. Why do you feel that is? What is it about the Masks that comfort you or why do you feel drawn to them? In my own life, my family had a wall of Masks, literally from all over the world. They were beautiful, exotic, and each had their own story associated with them. It wasn’t until things got “rocky” that an “Ah-Ha” moment showed up and the Masks were a part of the way things were dealt with and portrayed.  To the outside world it was one way, peaceful and serene, on the inside it was a rollercoaster full of huge ups and downs that created weird actions and responses that never made any sense. It wasn’t until the literal masks on the wall were taken a look at that the figurative Masks changed and started to be removed. I feel that sometimes we may require the Masks to keep us safe but I also feel that we are here to be our true, authentic self and in order to really be in that moment, that present moment, we must take off all the Masks. I know for myself that when I am my true authentic self, yes I have moments of sheer brilliance right next to moments of feeling like I want to fall on the floor and roll into a ball. That’s part of the human experience. We are all human, experiencing the world through our own lenses. Some of us have many Masks and it seems like we keep collecting more, others of us are peeling off the Masks and dealing with them one by one.

If you are one of the later, I congratulate you on doing the work. It isn’t always easy but knowing what has transpired in my life after the removal of Masks…I wouldn’t change it for the world. It is well worth it! Keep it up and know that there are people who love you regardless of which Mask you are working to remove right now and others who will probably leave your world because they choose to keep their Mask on and you just will no longer be able to relate to one another. That’s okay because the direction you are heading and the people who will show up in their place will be worth the work.

I applauded you. Give yourself credit. You deserve to be Mask Free!

With Love & Gratitude,

Shay Wheat
