fear is trusting in your own power

“Fear is Trusting in your own Power.” – Marianne Williamson

fear is trusting in your own power

Wow. Anyone else get goosebumps after reading that quote? I sure did. It truly resonates with me. Personally I have been one who has fought with that. Fearing my own power. Being so incredibly powerful (not the power that would take over the world for my own selfish reasons) but a power that resides within and removes lack, worry and fear, when you think of something BAM! it is manifested. It already happens and I am amazed every time.  I know, like I know, like I know how the “Laws” work yet will it (trusting that power) consume me? Will it take me over? Will I loose all that I know as “Shay” and who she has been? Maybe. But what if the new Shay is so much better, so much more of service, can assist that many more people? Who am I to hold that back? How dare I hold that back? It also ties into the Phoenix which is a symbol that is sooooo me. So near and dear to my heart and is really who I am and am becoming. That symbol has also scared me ever since it showed up in a dream of mine that woke me up out of a dead sleep not too many years ago. (I will have to tell you more about the Phoenix another time but it is a really cool story!)

This quote also reminds me of Marianne’s other quote:

  • Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I have even re-worked it, put it into more of an “I Am” statement, present tense form and this is what is on my bathroom mirror to read everyday.

“I am powerful beyond measure.

It is my light that empowers.

I am brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous.

I am a child of the Universe.

I play BIG to serve the world.

I am enlightened.

People feel secure around me.

I shine, just as children do.

I was born to make manifest the glory of God that is within me.

As I let my own light shine, I unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

I am liberated from my own fear.

My presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson re-written by Shay Wheat

The thing is we all have this immense power we possess and can tap into. The question is will we allow the fear to take over and leave the power within dormant or do we allow our own Phoenix to open its wings and be reborn to take flight once again. You are that powerful and to me it feels like it’s time that more and more of us trust in that fear of our power and let the light shine. It’s time to StandUpAndLead. Lead yourself and your presence will automatically liberate others to do the same.

I look forward to your comments and emails on times you have trusted your power, what you currently fear is holding you back and how you are taking action to move forward or looking for support to move forward. We are here to Shine and I am so excited to be on this journey with you. Let’s lock arms together and make a difference.

Love and Light,

Shay Wheat

I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say “Because of you I didn’t give up.”

I am so proud of my friends!

Right now I have a number of friends who are going out into the world to make things happen. They are taking their lives into their own hands and not waiting around for what the Universe may drop into their lap.

No sirree-bob!

They are true definitions of people who StandUpAndLead in their own lives and in return it not only will manifest into something wonderful but the example they set for their kids, family, friends, co-workers, employees and people they touch is much further reaching.

They don’t settle for the Status Quo and in many cases are taking it upon themselves to change old structures that are no longer working. Looking at what doesn’t work, Masterminding, collaborating, calling in their connections and together creating a wave of change.

They are from all walks of life and backgrounds, from different states, foster homes, divorced homes and homes where parents have been happily married for 40+ years. No matter their circumstances and where they started they still have that internal drive and ambition, that “No MATTER WHAT”, can do attitude and knowing that “If it is meant to be, it is up to me”.

Granted as they travel down this path, as when we all do, it isn’t full of beautifully smelling roses. No we all get pricked by a rose thorn. The job doesn’t manifest the way we want, the speaking contract doesn’t go through, the invention direction & business plan takes a turn or business plan changes completely but that does not stop them.

Nope.

They keep moving forward. Onto Plan B.

They realize there are lots of options left. “How can I?”. They are the creators of their destiny, they dictate how they react in a situation and how they CHOOSE to move forward. For all they know it is a blessing in disguise to learn the lessons they had to learn in the moment to allow them to really appreciate and have the skills and background for the next adventure in their lives.

I am so Proud of them! They never give up. They keep moving forward. It is people like them who are the NEW leadership, the NEW movers and shakers, the NEW creators of a life worth living.

I am blessed to be surrounded by them. They inspire me. They inspired this writing today.

Thank you for being you, for making a difference in my life, a difference in the lives of others and because of that ripple effect who knows how many other lives will be touched and changed for the better forever. You are the people who will have others come up to you and say “Because of you, I didn’t give up.” If it has not happened yet…let me be the first!

Love You My Friends!

What others think about you ISN'T important...what you think about yourself means EVERYTHING!

What others Think vs What you Think

What others think about you ISN'T important...what you think about yourself means EVERYTHING!

What others think about you ISN’T important…what you think about yourself means EVERYTHING!

Sticky Note of the Day: “What others think about you ISN’T important…what you think about yourself means EVERYTHING!”

When in our developmental cycle of growing up do we learn that other people’s opinion of us is more important than how we feel, think and see ourselves? If you look at a baby or young child they are so happy and excited to learn and discover new things about themselves and their environment (oh look, at toe!)  that they really don’t seem all that interested in what we (and others) think about them finding their toe.

However somewhere in that growing up process we “Learn” that we are to put others thoughts, feelings, and desires above our own. We stop listening to our Gut and our intuition and start “people pleasing”.

WHY!!??

What does that do for us? Where has it taken us? Granted I am not saying do things out of spite just to hurt another but if you truly want to (or not want to) do something why not go after it. Why do we feel like we don’t deserve our dreams because it may inconvenience someone else for the time being?

I feel it is time for us to Stand Up And Lead ourselves again. Discover new things and create new experiences. They don’t have to be huge and drastic but why not go to the beach one weekend, perhaps by yourself because you have had a internal feeling or “calling” to go. You are always in choice and you always have options. It is time to stop making excuses and FIND A WAY to make it happen. Ask friends and family if they can watch the kids for the day or a few hours even. Save your Starbucks money for a week and use the money for gas to make that trip to the beach.

W.I.T.=Whatever it Takes

W.I.T. to start believing in you again and not allowing that gripping hold of what others MIGHT be thinking about you. You have one life to live so why not start living it! The time is now. Make it happen. I believe in you. You have the means to change your life. The real question is…are you ready?

I look forward to seeing you on your own “beach” whatever that may mean for you.

Much Love,

Shay

dreams-sleep or chase after them

Dreams…continue to sleep or chase after them?

2

dreams-sleep or chase after them Every day you have the choice to hit the restart button or the snooze button. I love this note because it speaks to just that. 1. Hit the snooze button and continue to dream OR 2. Wake up and Chase your dreams.

So which one is it for you?

If you are someone who is on path and purpose you know exactly what direction you are headed and what you are doing. You are probably someone who is jumping out of bed even before the alarm clock goes off you are so excited. Awesome, keep chasing those dreams!

What if you are the person who would rather hit the snooze button, just one more time? What if you don’t know exactly what you are meant to do in this lifetime, what impact you are to make in the world, things may seem drab and you just don’t have that “get up and go” excited feeling. Then what?

Well, let me ask you this…what DO you enjoy doing?

If time and money was no object, you had a bank account that was bursting at the seams and all the time in the world, what would you be doing?

If the answer doesn’t come to you right away, you deserve to consciously learn to dream again, just as children do.  Your task right now is to pull out a piece of paper and start writing down things in each of the following categories.

I am happiest when I am….?  Reading a book, having an “Ah-ha” moment, helping children read, hearing that I was able to help a friend with a problem, spending time with family, being in nature, traveling the world, trying to uncover a mystery, creating a new app or program, speaking in front of a crowd, rearranging furniture or loving on animals.

Travel-where would you go? Some place with white sandy beaches & crystal clear blue water, perhaps the rain-forest  a cruise, the mountains, a spa resort, hiking, Comic-Con, go stand on a glacier, go on a bike ride overseas and raise money for your favorite charity or maybe take a trip around the world and see all of the 7 Wonders.

Home-Where would you live and what would it look like? A big custom home in the Alps, beach front property, a country ranch with 20 acres of land with horses, a high rise in the big city with a infinity pool overlooking the night life or perhaps a home for every season.

Vehicle-What car have you always wanted to have? Be detailed of the color and all the amenities that it would possess. Have you ever driven one before? If not I highly suggest you make that a priority this weekend, then take a picture of you in the car! Feel what it feels like to sit in the seats, experience the way it drives and how that makes you feel.

Who would you help? We all have people in our lives that have assisted us in our journey and since in this example we have unlimited funds and time…what would you do for those people that have helped you along the way? Buy them a house, assist with medical bills (heck pay them off), take them on a vacation, spend time with them, watch their kids for them while they go on a all expense paid date-your treat, shopping spree, cook them a gourmet meal (or have a amazing chef do it for you), perhaps even ask that special someone to spend the rest of their life with you?

Pinterest is a great place to assist you in opening your mind to dream again. You can create your own mini “dream boards” for all of the above.

My goal is not for you to get caught up in the materialism of these things but it will jump start you to start thinking about what you enjoy doing again. We deserve to Dream just as children do and for those of us that lost that along the way (like I did) this helps to get us jump started. Then we can take it to the next level but we must start somewhere.

Enjoy the Dreaming process, don’t turn any idea down no matter how crazy or if you feel you may never be able to afford it. There is no harm in writing it down or saving it to a Pinterest Board.

May you always remember to DREAM BIG!

With love,

Shay Wheat

"You are so worth it, go for it Today!" - Chris Teehee

Inspirational Notes and Inspirational Quotes – July 19, 2012

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today I challenge you. I challenge you to step into the sunshine, to “Go for it” as the sticky below from Chris Teehee suggests. You are worth it and the world deserves to see you shine. It is when you shine that you unconsciously give others the power within themselves to shine as well. It is a ripple effect that starts when you decide to Stand Up And Lead for yourself, for the power and passion you have within to make a difference for you and thus the world at large. It starts with one, why not you?
